10/4/2006 Attention, everyone -- we've succeeded in getting the October 14th schedule set up so we can deal with the SAT test, Lockland competition, and Homecoming activities.

Our performance time at Lockland will be 2:15.     We will leave right away after performing so everyone will be back in plenty of time for Homecoming activities.    The complete schedule will be available by Saturday, October 7th -- you can expect to be back from Lockland and finished at Taylor at about 4:00.

Attached is a full performance schedule and a list of all the bands.

10/05/2006 We won't have the new uniforms available yet for this Saturday because the hats aren't in yet and the pants need to be hemmed.   But, we have received the pants and Mr. B picked up the jackets and gauntlets at the factory in Dayton Wednesday afternoon.   The plan is to have everything ready to go for our first OMEA competition at Lockland on the 14th.

Uniform pants come in various sizes and are fitted for each of our current students, but they come in generic lengths of short, regular & long, and each pair of pants (30 students) needs to be individually hemmed.

We need volunteers to do individual fitting & pinning.   This can be done during band class on Friday, Monday or Tuesday of next week (class meets from 1:50 to 2:35).   Other times could be set up after school Monday & Tuesday between 3 & 6 pm; also Wednesday is a possiblity between 3 & 4pm.    The goal is to have everyone fitted & pinned by Wednesday and have the uniforms hemmed & ready to wear on Saturday the 14th.

Volunteers for fitting, pinning & hemming can send an email to ken_sykes@msn.com or kbierschenk@three-rivers.org.   Please state your time availability during any of the time slots listed above & Mr Bierschenk will make sure the students are there.  If we can get enough hemming volunteers, each volunteer will only have to work on a fairly small number of uniforms.

Mr Bierschenk will take care of inventory on the hats, jackets & gauntlets as all these items arrive.

10/08/2006 Our Thursday 5-7 practice will be at CLEVES COMMUNITY PARK -- go across Route 50 at the BP station and follow that road directly into the park, then look for the bread truck.

 Hello Parents,
It's hard to believe that we are already to the last Friday night football game.  In an attempt to not over buy the candy for the concession stand, I thought it would be a good idea to supplement the candy with baked goods. Goodies such as cookies, brownies, cupcakes, rice crispy treats, carmel apples, Little Debbie snacks,  granola bars etc. sell very well at the concession stand. ( It doesn't have to be homemade.)  If you are sending cookies or brownies or something of that nature, please either put them in individual baggies (two cookies per bag) or wrap them individually in plastic wrap.  I will bring extra baggies in case someone doesn't have time to package them.  We will save any goodies that we have left over and take them to the competition on Saturday to give out to the kids.  I will be at Taylor around 6:15 on Friday night.  If you want to send your baked good with your child that's fine or you can bring it when you come for the game.

Thanks for all your help and support!  We have had a very good year with the concession stand.

See you on Friday!

attached is the schedule for the week, including driving directions to Colerain HS.

PLEASE NOTE:  all remaining practices will be at Taylor -- no more practices at Cleves Park.   This is due to the change back to Eastern Standard Time this weekend -- it will be too dark to practice after 6:00 at the park.

thanks,

Mr B

10/30/2006 Here's the email we've all been waiting for -- the FINAL weekly schedule!  REMINDER -- both practices are at Taylor -- no more practices at Cleves Park due to early darkness.  Thanks to everyone for all your great help & support with the marching band this year -- please come out to Kings this Saturday & help the band have a great finish to a great season.
